Christopher Smith aka 100 PERCENT hails from the Bronx, New York City where he developed a passion for hip hop that was deeply provoked by the atrocities of inner city life and the pressure of growing up in a single parent household. As a child he was shy, and like most kids struggled to find his true identity in an environment that for most kids his age demanded assimilation to a negative stereotype. Yet, there was something burning inside of him that would not only defy the stereotype, but crush it all together. At the age of ten young Christopher avoided the temptation of the streets by escaping into his bedroom where he’d spend hours listening to songs by RAKIM, KRS ONE, L.L. COOL J, and EPMD. Influenced by quintessential Hip Hop, this young “icon in the making” discovered the ability to articulate his perspective on life and the young black dilemma from a vantage point that is not only fresh, but extremely poignant. As his love for rap music grew, so did his desire to become part of hip hop’s elite entertainers. Setting a keen ear to the brash and risqué tones of artists like 50 CENT, 100 PERCENT decided to take his game to another level. Drawing on the essence of those who inspired him he has now fully encompassed all of the qualities of a rap god. In 2011, 100 PERCENT was featured on DJ Envy’s “Audio Uprising Vol.1.” At the release party, 100 PERCENT debuted the single, “Making History,” performing with a lyrical prowess that not only establishes him as a viable force in the rap game, but pushes him to the forefront of up-and-coming rap artists to keep an eye on. With an unmatchable talent and a hunger to surpass all predecessors, 100 PERCENT has recently signed a co-management deal with Brillionaire Entertainment Group (B.E.G). The company will co-manage the artist with industry newcomer BKP Worldwide Inc. Since signing with Brillionaire Entertainment Group, 100 PERCENT has landed an appearance in the first of four national commercials for The Hip Hop Head Foundation. In an effort to decrease the drop-out rate in America the (501c3) organization has joined forces with the hip hop community to help influence children across the country to stay in school and reach greater levels of academic success. Their “DO SCHOOL!” campaign is scheduled to begin September 2013. 100 PERCENT is the first of many Hip Hop Artists, DJs and Producers who will appear in the campaign in support of the foundation’s efforts. He has also been selected to pen the organizations theme song, “I am a hip hop head.” Young and Unstoppable, 100 PERCENT aims to destroy all challengers; with his slick lyrical style and added street grit he has developed into an artist with a fresh new sound that is purely objectionable to hip-hop’s current status quo. With the successful release of his new project MIXTAPE MUSIC VOL.1: The Initiation. HOSTED BY LEGENDARY DJ RON G, 100 PERCENT is destined for success and poised to put New York City back on the hip hop throne. 100 PERCENT is currently in the studio, finishing up his highly anticipated album and preparing to hit the road.
